They say this primarily because its battery allows a lot of unplugged use between charges. Many purchasers also praise the nearly (92%) full size keyboard and the quality of the display image.
My experience is that it works very well right out of the box. I added the memory upgrade with ease. It hooks up to my in-home wireless network almost effortlessly. It was perfect for reading and viewing in my coach seats on a recent round trip flight, even in the puddle-jumper legs of the trip.
I can also whip it out on my lunch break at work for quick and easy reading and writing.
The netbook's zippered sleeve that comes with it does a good job of protecting the shiny finish and makes it easy to carry.
The touch pad takes a little getting used to, but don't they all?
